A directorial venture by Kartikye Gupta, born in India and based in Los Angeles, had a strong interest in visual storytelling at an early age. To pursue filmmaking, Gupta enrolled at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles and completed BFA in Filmmaking. Since then he has edited and directed more than 15 shorts, which received appreciation at several major film festivals, including official selection in 45 film festivals with his last short, DR. ELEVATOR which was also a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was recognized by JuVee Productions, headed by Viola Davis. His previous work, PLEASE DON'T CALL THE COPS premiered at the biggest South Asian Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the HBO award.

AMAL

Short Film - AMAL, directed by Hani Alqattan.

A young girl “AMAL” discovers the death of her father “JOSEF” by her mother “SABREEN”. Josef is an award architect that martyred in Paris attack by a terrorist suicidal. Which causes a strong psychological trauma on Amal. Despite the fact of Amal’s loss and after three months, She even becomes strongly attached to him by keep carrying the roses for his return. Unexpected news Sabreen tells to Amal, it’s the surprise of Sabreen pregnancy (the new hope).
